Boulevard Burger Opens in Castro Valley
Boulevard Burger has fired up its grills and opened its doors in Castro Valley.
Grass-fed beef, Mike's Famous Chili, and shakes so thick, they'll make your spoon stand up, have all arrived at a legendary Castro Valley Boulevard location that once housed the A&W Drive-In.
The checkerboard floor and classic stainless finishes will give you a hint of 1950s nostalgia – and the fresh, made-to-order dishes appeal to today's appetites.
Owner and well-known East Bay Restaurateur, Michael Wiesner, literally grew up behind the grill. His family ran "Granny's Burgers" in Minnesota where they lived behind their restaurant. "My mother was known for her mouthwatering cheeseburgers so, of course, I included my homage to Mom, 'The Granny Burger,' on the menu at the new Boulevard Burger," quipped Wiesner.
"Having run five restaurants, I have my share of personal experience yet, I still use much of what I learned flipping burgers for Mom. This menu is classics with an emphasis on fresh, quality ingredients such as Painted Hills Ranch beef and our signature, artisanal bun. I personally worked with my neighbor, a local baker, to make sure that our buns are the perfect wrapping for our burger – I know people will love biting into our specialty buns."
Wiesner's other restaurants include Paridiso and Boulevard Burger in San Leandro, Paradise Grill in Castro Valley, and the soon to reopen Acapulco in Alameda.
Located at 3714 Castro Valley Blvd, Boulevard Burger serves lunch and dinner seven days a week from 11am to 9pm. The fast casual service includes both inside seating, and outdoor patio dining and will soon include traditional phone orders, online and smart phone ordering capability.
